The name “Jasper” comes from the Greek word IASPIS. Jasper has been used throughout history for both ornamentation and as a gemstone. Uniquely Australian, Starry Jasper is an orangey red with inclusions or crystals of black Iron Pyrite that twinkle like stars in the night sky.

This textured, matte finish pendant also boasts an antique black glass button set below the centre stone. I have fused silver dust and silver wire around the stone for additional surface texture.

About the Stone

Most common colours are red, yellow, brown, green and rarely blue.  Jasper in all its forms is a significant stone in New Age and feng shui practice.
