Warm, burnt orange in colour, highly textured and eye-catching. This pendant is not for the faint of heart. It’s gnarly, bumpy, lumpy, but nonetheless a beautiful and one-of-a-kind piece of silver jewellery. The bezel is hand fabricated to showcase the stone and it echoes the contours of the botryoidal agate with precision.

I cut the stone myself and let me tell you this whole thing was a challenge.

In nature, perfect crystals are rare. Crystal growth is constrained by the environmental conditions present at the time of formation, including variables relating to space, heat, pressure and the cooling period. That means that crystals can form many in different shapes in nature. And sometimes you get grapes.

About the Stone

Botryoidal comes from the Greek word botrus, meaning "bunch of grapes". And Agates, they are everywhere.
